The USFWK prayer day was successfully held at Masaba Secondary School in Elgon East Y.M on Saturday 15/6/2024.The theme of the meeting was “Rooted in trust’’. It was attended by approximately 8,000 participants who came from all yearly meetings of Kenya .

The service began with a warm welcome from the church's pastor, pastor Linette Limo, who welcomed all and gave the agenda for the service.

The Friends church in Kenya Vice presiding clerk Nicholas Anyanje representing the clerk brought a message of encouragement. Quoting the books of Colossians 4:2 and 1Thessalonians 5:17 , he encouraged the women to persist in prayer with passion and thanksgiving . He asked the church to work as a team by talking the same language and praying for an end of wrangling in some of the yearly meetings. He recognized the participants from QMI ,FUM and FWCC (Africa section) .He requested all yearly meetings to support the USFWK project at Handidi by contributing towards the Thanksgiving day on 29/6/2024 .

Prayers were offered for; 1. Friends church peace, conferences, peaceful nominations and FTC-Kaimosi . 2. Education –students and teachers. 3. Families. 4. National peace.

Sermon

A very moving sermon whose theme was “ The root of trust “ was delivered by Pst. Elizabeth Odera presided over by Pst. Edith Wekesa . The quotes came from Jeremiah 17:7-8 and Psalms 125:1, that only trust in God motivates confident obedience in season and out of season. It assured the Lord’s people that remaining loyal to him is really worthwhile as it calls upon God’s protection. Pst. Edith prayed for the prayer needs and journey mercies to end the day.

The Women's Prayer Day was a remarkable event that brought together women from various communities, united in their faith and dedication to prayer. The day's theme, "Rooted in Trust," resonated deeply with all attendees, as they engaged in passionate and heartfelt prayers for personal, communal, and national concerns. Inspirational messages and sermons underscored the importance of unwavering trust in God, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the participants.

The event concluded on a high note, with a renewed commitment to persistent prayer, unity, and mutual support. The shared experiences and spiritual encouragement strengthened the bonds among the women, empowering them to continue their faith journey with greater confidence and resilience. The Women's Prayer Day not only deepened their spiritual roots but also reinforced the power of collective prayer in fostering peace, hope, and community well-being.
